Peace Camp

For several years before the pandemic, FMC and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church sponsored a Peace Camp. Once again, Peace Camp will be offered August 12-15, 2024, (Monday through Thursday) from 9am to 11:30am for rising kindergarteners through rising sixth graders. This is a joint venture with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and will be held at First Mennonite Church.

Children will enjoy learning Bible stories, songs, peacemaking skills, cooperative games, and art. The curriculum is “Peace Lab, Discovering God’s Way of Peace” developed by Shine, the curriculum that FMC uses for Sunday School. Register here.

Volunteers needed!

The planning committee is seeking volunteers to help run the Peace Camp program! Volunteers are needed to (a) help with music, art, cooperative games, peacebuilding skills, and Bible story dramas; (b) serve as a nurse; or (c) organize snacks. Middle and high school students are welcome to volunteer as well. Please fill out the survey at https://tinyurl.com/3zm3mn8h to indicate your interest in volunteering. If you have questions, please talk to a planning committee member: Jean Oswald, Emily Nyce, Grant Rissler, or Tim Heishman.
